Town Hall Accessibility Project Community Meeting

Come share your ideas! The Town Hall Accessibility Project Committee invites you to a community meeting Sept. 27, 6pm – 7:30pm, Wheelock Town Hall. Covid precautions will be in place.

Announcements were mailed 9/10 to all 315 Wheelock households. First, our project consultants Chris Kennedy, MAKE Architects and Paul Simon, VIS Construction Consultants and Brandy Saxton, Place Sense, Outreach, will present two design concepts (“make it better” and “combined facilities”). These options were preferred by 80 Wheelock residents in the May survey. The second half of the meeting will be response and discussion with community members. Broad participation is essential to guide next steps towards a fully accessible Town Hall. A facilitator will help ensure every voice is heard. We are working with KATV to create a video of the meeting available on their station and YouTube. There will also be opportunities afterwards for those who can’t attend to contribute their ideas.

The Project Committee meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 6pm via Zoom. Agendas and minutes are posted. All are welcome to join.

This project is paid for with support from a State of Vermont Municipal Planning Grant, Vermont Community Foundation NEK Fund, and the Smart Growth Fund at VNRC.
